Below you will find a list of agencies that provide residential services in Washtenaw County that are looking for those who have a desire to enrich other people’s lives.

What is a Direct Care Professional?
A Direct Care Professional (or Direct Support Professional, or Personal Assistant) is someone who works with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities or mental illness to help them engage in the community, become valued members of their community, and
increase their independent living skills.
This work can include, but is not limited to, assistance with daily living skills, community outings, problem solving, teaching new skills, medication administration, meal preparation, and assistance with household tasks.
The initial qualifications to be a Direct Care Professional are: at least 18 years old, able to communicate well enough to follow treatment plans and emergency procedures, and be in good standing with the law. Employers will then sponsor you obtaining any necessary training such as First Aid, medication passing, or universal precautions.
